DonorsChoose.org & MyTeacher Hero Blog

We recently had a snow storm right before christmas. The kids missed school the last 3 days before the holiday. There were no parties and none of the kids had the gifts they made for their families. Our teacher, Miss Pilcher is so dedicated to her class that she first invited kids to her home to finish the gifts if they wanted or she would do it for them. Then she spent the entire day before christmas eve delivering to every childs home the gifts the kids made as well as stockings she had put together for them throughout the month. I think it's very rare that a teacher cares that much about her students. I know for a fact that this teacher is this way with every class that she has. Teachers like her are the ones who kids remember when they grow up and move on and tell their own children about.

This post is part of the MAT@USC Hope for the holidays event. Did you have an experience or witness something in 2009 which gave you hope for the future of American education? If so, please see this post for more information on how to share it.
